Nickles Give Us AIDS

One word. Nicklecade. Alas, it was my first time at ye ol' Nicklecade today. Might I say, I was not so impressed. So many pointless arcade games... Half of which didn't even function properly. But winning a combined total of 1,641 tickets isn't too shabby. That's a lot of candy and Homies to be had. But when all the fun and festivities were over, our hands were infested with every disease imaginable.

Cafe Rio was our Dinner of choice. And it was good.

I also found out who my roommates are going to be for next year. Don't worry. I've already Facebook stalked the ones I could find.

I also saw Inception for the 2nd time. That is one movie that will never cease to amaze me. However, if I continue to see this movie, I will not have fingernails since I bite them off every time!

Drivin' Down Dem Dusty Roads

WHERE do I even start!?

This weekend. Most epic weekend of my life. Hands down! I never thought so much could happen in 2 days and over 24 hours of driving... But it did. Oh it did. -- Picture this. 6 college kids, crammed into a Governmental Suburban on the road for 10 hours to San Diego, 10 hours back to Utah. Something crazy was bound to happen.

So Cadence sang at Video Games Live as part of Comicon, the largest Comic Book and Video Game convention in the world. If you haven't heard of it, check it out

Pretty legit stuff right there. But I must say, the highlight of the trip was the drive! haha! SO many inside jokes happened it's hard to keep track of them all. We tried, but then failed... Let me just try to remember some...
"Driving down dem dusty roads."
"This music is great to listen to when you're on a tractor!"
"Those are rolling hills! LOOK AT THEM!"
"One time a peasant... I meant Pheasant."
"This seatbelt is caressing me in places I didn't even know I had."
"Why are we listening to Christmas music?" "Because we're in Arizona!"
"I wanted to punch his sideburns right off his face!"
"Let's TRY to get pulled over!"

And the list goes on and on! All in all it was the best trip to San Diego!

I sure do love me some Parents!

So in short, My parents rock. End of story!

Lit'rally. I don't know what I would do without my parents! They are so accepting and they help me so much. So much so that I feel like a take advantage of them... Ok ok ok, I do take advantage of them. But they are the greatest. They have supported me through thick and thin! I wouldn't be where I am today without their love and support! I LOVE YOU MOM AND DAD!

The answer to the question you've all been asking...

Sigh... there sure is one thing I haven't liked about this summer. It's the fact that all of my guy friends are furthering their lives and their faith by serving missions. I go to all these farewells and see how excited they are to be doing what they're doing. It makes me soooo happy to see my friends happy! :D Then... After all the hugs, friends and parents of friends ask the question that just puts a damper on my day. "Derek, are you going on a mission?"
Today, I just wanted to answer that question once and for all, because I'm kind of really sick of getting asked that. My answer for you today is.... YES! However, in the past it was MAYBE. I couldn't really make up my mind. Because, well, I was scared. But I'm here today to tell you... I have made my decision.
Am I terrified? Very. But I feel like it's what I need to do for myself. There are some things I need to do to prepare myself to go.. But I suspect that I will turn my papers in by next march. :)
Which means, 1 more year of school. Which was my plan in the beginning. Get my generals done and my associates degree, then decide. But since I've already decided, my plans have kind of changed.

So. There is your answer. I hope you're excited, because I have the jitters about it. :D Haha

Summer got boring after the first 2 minutes...

Summer. The 3 months of play time before one is to continue furthering his education. 3 months of rest if you will. Summer is a time that you hang out with friends and make great memories. Summer is a time for you to play in the sun! ...... this year, summer. is. TERRIBLE!
This has got to be the worst summer in the history of Derek Sorensen. I mean, really. All of my guy friends are gone, and my girl friends seem to be too cool for me! (all except for a select few). Well, ok, that's a lie.. They don't think they're cooler than me. They just are employed. I guess that's a little bit of my summer issues this year. I'm unemployed and all I do is sit at home and rot away my brain with television and video games. Believe me, when school starts up again, I will for sure be having a party every day!
It's weird how college changes you. It seems as if all I want to do is hang out with my college friends and not my high school friends. :/ I feel bad about it, but It's how I feel. I feel like my college friends accept me for who I am a little bit better than my high school friends. Haha. Or it could just be my college friends and I have GOOOOOOOOD TIMES!!!!!! :D
Well, school starts back up in 1 month. And I can hardly contain my excitement! I think I just peed a little... that's how excited I am. I can't wait! College is one of those things where every year isn't the same as the last. You get a new experience every new semester, really. that's why I love college! It's so full of adventures and nothing is the same. It's a time where you can start over and become who you've always wanted to become. Especially Snow College. It has the greatness of a University, but the people are the best quality people. You can get along with everyone! Man! I just love Snow College! I don't get why people are such downers of 2 year colleges. They seriously give you opportunities that a 4 year university can't give. And it prepares you for a big university. It eases you into them, rather than going form High School to a GIGANTIC campus. That's one extreme culture shock.

Logan Utah... The place of Dreams.

Ok, so maybe Logan isn't all it's cracked up to be. But, hey, there is a mall. And in said mall there is a store known as Rue 21, and I love me some Rue 21! Anyways. My mom took me and my sister random clothes shopping today... Apparently I did something good? But, I don't know. It was just a fun filled family fiesta! (yeah, I just used an alliteration. WHAT OF IT!?) Whoa, sorry for the outburst there. But my mom spent so much money on me and my sister and nephew. One day, I will repay her for all this fantastical spoilage that my parents do to me!
Tomorrow is Spencer Jensen's farewell. And it's going to be one HUGE party. Snow College reunion? I think so. Yeahhhhhh!!!

Derek's starting a blog?!

Well. I really have no idea what I'm doing. I've decided to treat this like some sort of online Journal or something... That all the world can read. Yes, you read correctly. I, Derek Sorensen, have decided to let you into my life. Who ever "you" are.. Because I doubt anyone will ever read this. But still! Now, you must be warned, during these summer days remaining the blogging might me a minimum since I have no job, and all I do is sit at home... But I will try my best to be thoroughly entertaining. Well..... Here goes
